You don’t always have to spend $100 on a tiny bottle of hair treatment; sometimes, using certain common household oils will do the trick! Below we’ve listed five hair oils we approve of and why they are beneficial.
• Healthy Hair Oils •
Natural oils put life back into dry, unhealthy hair. They add instant moisture and shine that will give you luscious locks. All you need to do is massage the oils into your hair and scalp, put on a shower cap, and let it soak for about half an hour. Afterwards, wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner. Be sure to use any of these oils in moderation– using too much will cause your hair to look oily. We also recommend you wear old clothes you don’t care about in case things get a little messy.
1. Coconut Oil
Coconut oil contains vitamin E and several other nutrients that your hair will love. In addition to making your hair shinier and stronger, coconut oil is great for getting rid of dandruff due to its lauric and capric acid.
2. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
EVOO is great for promoting scalp health and encourage hair growth. Bonus: it doubles as a shaving cream.
3. Avocado Oil
Avocado oil has endless proteins and vitamins including A, D, E, and B6. The proteins in avocado oil are excellent for repairing damage hair and preventing future damage.
4. Argan Oil
You’ve probably seen argan oil in the list of ingredients for several shampoos and conditioners. This oil is loaded with Vitamin E and fatty acids which help with dry and unmanageable hair.
5. Pomegranate Seed Oil
Pomegranate seed oil has high amounts of punicic acid, which helps revitalize hair. It’s also excellent for protecting your hair against chemicals in the environment.
